Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, at a government meeting on March 9, outlined Azerbaijan’s goals in Nagorno-Karabakh and called the necessary measures to prevent the irreversible consequences of Baku’s policy.
According to Pashinyan, Azerbaijan pursues several goals with the March 5 terrorist attack: to interrupt further negotiations with representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh and create the necessary background for a new military provocation.
He also noted that Azerbaijan, by this act of terrorism, tried to create false evidence of the alleged supply of weapons and ammunition from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as divert attention from the need to comply with the decision of the International Court of Justice.
“The next important goal of Azerbaijan was the following: to use bloody terrorism to form new discourses, new information flows that will cover an important fact: that Azerbaijan openly does not comply with the decision of the International Court of Justice regarding the opening of the Lachin corridor”, — Prime Minister of Armenia said.
He stressed that a reliable mechanism is needed for an institutional dialogue between Stepanakert and Baku.
«Azerbaijan goes on new provocations in order to further aggravate the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. This makes it urgent to send an international fact-finding mission to Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin corridor to prevent new aggression and clear preparations for ethnic cleansing of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh,” Pashinyan said.
